THE AMAZING WORLD OF GUMBALL

EXPERIENCE IN TELEVISION 

 

As this was the first experience in the industry as an animator I was extremely fortunate to land a job at Boulder media in Dublin. At the end of 2009 they had just acquired the right to make the ground breaking show “The Amazing World of Gumball” for Cartoon Network.

 

​The show mixed 3D and 2D but also had photo or live action backgrounds. With the help of my lead, Paul O’Flanagan, I was given an amazing opportunity to really experiment with my animation due to the diverse range of characters. Because it was so diverse, we were asked to animate in many different styles which ranged from realistic to cartoony, stop motion and even puppet like. This was a challenge in itself to get all these effects in a 3D package but was extremely satisfying to get the results we did.We also had to work very closely with the 2D animators as there was a lot of interaction between the two.
